Dr Lowri Jones, Academic Registrar

Role

Deputy to the Academic Director, the Academic Registrar is a member of the Welfare Team. Students are welcome to see her about any matter affecting them; Tutors and College Advisors are also welcome to contact her regarding a student they are teaching or advising. She is the Disability Lead for the College and works closely with the Disability and Grants Officer on supporting disabled students and on student finance including bursaries and hardship. She oversees Collections and examination arrangements and works closely with the Admissions Officer and the Academic Director on UG and PG Admissions. She also takes a special interest in support for Early Career Researchers and Postgraduates. 

Profile

Dr Lowri Jones read English at Cambridge, followed by an MPhil in Material Anthropology and Museum Ethnography at Oxford. She then undertook a PhD in Historical Geography at Royal Holloway University London in collaboration with the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). On completing her doctorate in 2010 she taught Geography at the University of Nottingham and worked on an AHRC-funded research project, before moving to Oxford in 2015 to work as a Research Facilitator in the Humanities Division. Before joining Jesus College, Lowri was Manager of the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership.
