Information on matriculation: if you are a new graduate or undergraduate and have not yet attended a matriculation ceremony.

This is an official requirement of the University for all those coming into residence to read for their first Oxford degree. You must matriculate on arrival: Matriculation takes precedence over any other engagement. Failure to attend will be treated as a disciplinary matter.
Timetable on the day
Ceremony start time: 10.00am in the Sheldonian Theatre
Please note that you will be required to attend the College's Matriculation group photograph which will be taken before the Ceremony. The group photo wil be taken at 8.45am and you will need to be assembled in 2nd Quad by 8.30am. Individual photographs will be also available between 8am and 9.30am.

IMPORTANT! Please read the dress code carefully – you are required to wear full sub fusc or you will be refused entry to this ceremony.
Full academic dress (sub fusc) must be worn exactly as listed below for this event:
You should wear the appropriate gown (undergraduate or postgraduate), a mortar board or soft-cap, and your preferred sub fusc from the following list:
a. Dark suit with dark socks, or
b. Dark skirt with black tights or stockings, or
c. Dark trousers with dark socks or dark hosiery (socks, tights and stockings must cover the ankle entirely. Where socks or stockings are worn, there should be no gap between the bottom of the trouser leg or skirt and the top of the socks or stockings.) and
- Black shoes
- Plain white collared shirt or blouse
- White bow tie, black bow tie, black full-length tie, or black ribbon
plus optional dark coat (if it’s cold on the day)
N.b. You will also need full academic dress for your examinations.
